Noida BPO employee kills colleague

A call centre employee was arrested on Wednesday by Noida Police for murdering a female colleague on Holi. Faridabad police recovered the body of victim, 23-year-old Pooja Bhatia, who went missing on March 1.

Pooja’s family filed a complaint against her boss, Baljeet Singh, on March 3 and claimed he had abducted her. The Noida police checked Pooja’s phone records and found out that the two communicated regularly.

After interrogation by the Noida Police, Baljeet confessed to killing Pooja. A postmortem revealed that she had died due to drowning.

Accused of land fraud, Shikhoabad MLA Ashok Yadav was sent to 14 days judicial custody by the Noida court on Monday.

An FIR was registered against Yadav in 2008 by Raj Kishore Verma, a resident of Noida Sector-36, who had applied for 10 acres of land for IT Park on Noida Expressway. However, his application was rejected by Noida Authority in the final stages.

Verma claims that the MLA got in touch with him later and told him to deposit 5 crores for the land deal to go through. After paying the sum of money, Verma failed to get the allotment.

Property dealer shot dead by unknown assailants

Greater Noida: A property dealer was found dead in Kasna area on Thursday. He was shot dead by unidentified assailants who disfigured his face making it almost impossible to recognize him, police said.

According to S K Verma, Superintendent of Police (rural), “The victim’s relatives could not identify him immediately as his face was severely disfigured as the assailants had used some heavy object.”

35 year old Ajay Pal also known as Pappu Bhati got a call on Wednesday night supposedly from a customer and went to meet him. When he did not reach back home his family members searched for him the whole night before informing police.

S K Verma said that on the basis of prima facie evidence, Pal was shot dead in his car after which the assailants pulled his body out and disfigured his face.

Police also recovered liquor bottles from the car.

School girl hit by SUV driven by 14 year old

A 14 year old boy, driving an SUV, lost control over a curve and hit a school girl in Greater Noida on Friday.

A student of Astor Public School in Greater Noida’s Delta-II area, Manisha Pal was hit near the Omaxe Crossing round-about around 2:30 p.m. Manisha was going back home on her cycle when the incident occurred.

The teenager driving the SUV is also a student of Astor. He had picked up his young niece, studying in class 2, and had given a lift to two other friends who were also injured in the accident.

Brothers Sumit (13) and Shubham Rawal (15) sustained injuries and according to Salil Kapoor, medical superintendent of Kailash Hospital Manisha and Shubham have serious head injuries and are critical.

The erring teenager after hitting Manisha tried to reverse the vehicle in panic, but banged into a divider instead after which the car overturned and caught fire.

A speeding heavy duty dumper crashed into an SUV carrying eleven employees of a private firm.

The incident took place at the Sector 71 crossing around 5 p.m on Sunday. The injured were rushed to Fortis and Satya Hospital where the condition of three people is said to be critical.

Employees of Up-to-date Enterprises, the eleven were on their way home in a Tata Winger SUV when a speeding dumper hit them from the opposite side.

The police have registered a case against the driver of the dumper who is absconding.

In a barbaric act of revenge, 6 people knocked off a police sub-inspector and crushed him under the wheels of their Maruti car as he had caught them for drunk driving earlier on.

The 6 miscreants, after being released on bail, went back to the place where sub-inspector John Peter was stationed and mowed him because he had reported them for driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to A K Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Noida, the culprits were stopped and asked to produce documents as part of a routine exercise when they misbehaved with Peter.

“When Peter retaliated, they rammed the car into his bike and crushed him under the wheels,” added Singh.

The cop sustained multiple fractures in his thighs and one arm. His condition is said to be critical but stable.

The arrested youths have been booked under the serious charges of attempt to murder of a public servant and gangster act.

A gang of criminals were arrested by the Sector 39 Police for carrying out illegal transactions worth Rs 62 lakh for the last two years.

The gang used Magnetic Strip Card Reader (MSCR) to clone credit cards with which they bought goods from Delhi and Noida and sold it at a lesser price in open markets.

Anil Samania, SHO sector 39 police station said, “Since shopkeepers seldom check the 16 digit Standard Card Account Number and merely match the data contained in magnetic strip, the fraud was not easily detected.”

The three arrested were kingpin - Shahnawaz, a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) graduate, Shabbir and Mohammad Afaq who helped him in the crime.

They were arrested from near the Great India Place on 25th evening. Police recovered one laptop, one LCD television, one fake driving licence, three fake debit cards, four fake PAN Cards, digital recorder, I-Pod, mobile phones and designer garments from the accused.

School kids hurt in mishap on R-day

6 school children got injured when the van they were traveling in collided with another school bus in Greater Noida on Republic Day.

The incident took place in Dadupur area close to NTPC plant in Dadri, Greater Noida.

The van which was carrying 10 children, was heading to R.N Public School around seven in the morning in thick fog. According to the police, the other bus was coming from the opposite direction and was headed to Sardari Devi Inter College.

“The over speeding bus rammed into the van injuring 6 students, a teacher and the driver, after which the bus driver ran away” said a police official.

The injured were rushed to a hospital but have been declared out of danger.

A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered. The Police have impounded the vehicles and summoned the owners.

A second year M.B.A student committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her bedroom at Noida on Friday night.

Anu who was doing her M.B.A from Innovative College in Greater Noida hanged herself at her Chodha Gaon residence around 8 p.m.

According to the Police, Anu was engaged to an engineer, who was working in Faridabad. She killed herself 15 days after the engagement.

On Friday night, the Police were called when repeated attempts by her family to open her bedroom door failed.

The Police are now investigating the reason for the suicide.

Engineer hangs self in Noida

A software engineer committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his bedroom at Noida on Tuesday night.

Kunal Verma who was working with a software firm in Noida hanged himself at his sector-71 residence as he was apparently upset over his love life.

According to the Police, Kunal’s younger brother Avinash said that he was upset after visiting his girl-friend in Agra three days back and on Tuesday night when repeated attempts to open the door failed, Avinash called the Police.

SP AK Tripathi said that the body has been sent for post mortem.
