Now pay toll tax on Noida Expressway from Sep 30

noida-gn-expresswayThe Uttar Pradesh government said on Tuesday that the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will cease to be toll-free from Sep 30.

Toll rates are to be applicable on per-kilometre basis. This decision has not gone down well with people living in areas near Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.

Former state minister Nawab Singh Nagar criticised the government’s decision and argued that the local farmers alongside the Expressway would be unable to bear the toll.

A resident of Sector 93 agreed and said, “It is unfair to make residents pay every time they get out of their houses.”

Toll rates for a car commuter is to be Rs.0.80 paisa per km while a Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) owner will have to pay Rs.1.30 paisa per km, a bus owner Rs.2.75 paisa per km, and heavy vehicle travellers will have to pay Rs.5.25 per km.
