Now pay toll tax on Noida Expressway from Sep 30

Now pay toll tax on Noida Expressway from Sep 30

noida-gn-expresswayThe Uttar Pradesh government said on Tuesday that the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will cease to be toll-free from Sep 30.

Toll rates are to be applicable on per-kilometre basis. This decision has not gone down well with people living in areas near Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.

Former state minister Nawab Singh Nagar criticised the government’s decision and argued that the local farmers alongside the Expressway would be unable to bear the toll.

A resident of Sector 93 agreed and said, “It is unfair to make residents pay every time they get out of their houses.”

Toll rates for a car commuter is to be Rs.0.80 paisa per km while a Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) owner will have to pay Rs.1.30 paisa per km, a bus owner Rs.2.75 paisa per km, and heavy vehicle travellers will have to pay Rs.5.25 per km.

How to curl your hair without using any appliance

How to curl your hair without using any appliance

hair2This is so easy that you’ll never want to spend another rupee curling your hair in a salon. You’ll have a head full of bouncy curls to show off!

You will need:

  • A friend to play hair dresser
  • Newspapers
  • Half a mug of water
  • A head of damp hair
  • Comb
  • Clips

Step 1: Strip some paper

Fold the newspaper into half and tear. Fold the two torn sheets again and tear further. You’ll have four newspaper strips to work with. Repeat the process until you have atleast 12 newspaper strips.

Step 2: Roll strips

Roll the strips into long pipes and make sure that they don’t open up.

Tip: The girl getting her hair curled can take the responsibility of rolling up the paper and passing it on to her ‘hair dresser’ friend as and when she needs it.

Step 3: Comb hair

Comb your hair properly leaving no tangles in it.

Step 4: Part hair

Part a line around the back of your head from ear to ear, and clip the top section of hair up.

Step 5: Divide hair locks equally

Divide your hair locks equally so that the curls that form are also of equal size. If you try to curl too much in one go, the curls may not form. Similarly, if you take too little, your hair might end up looking frizzy. Therefore, try and take about one inch of your locks for a perfect curl.

Step 6: Wet your locks slightly

Take the selected lock of hair in one hand and dip the finger of your other hand in a bowl of water. Wet your locks slightly.

Step 6: Wrap your hair around the newspaper pipe.

Wrap the selected lock of hair around the newspaper pipe. Start from the ends of your hair and roll it upwards. Stop midway to your head. Then take the ends of the pipe and knot them. This will ensure that the hair stays locked in the knotted pipe.

Step 7: Repeat on top section

Repeat the same process on the top section. If need be, part the hair further and clip another section up. This way you’ll have three sections in your hair which you have to further divide into locks.

Step 8: Let it stay

Leave on the newspapers for about 3 hours or even over night. You might feel a tad silly but the end results worth it!

Step 9: Remove paper

Remove the newspaper pipes from your hair. Do not comb hair but gently run your fingers through your hair.

Tip: if your curls are too tight and unsightly, don’t panic. Just run your hand over each lock of over-curled hair and smoothen it lightly. You can even damp your hands slightly to do so.

Step 10: Spray

Squirt some hair spray on to hold the style and you’re ready to flaunt your bouncy curly locks!

How to tell when you’re dehydrated

How to tell when you’re dehydrated

dehydration000You don’t need to be thirsty to be dehydrated. There are various signs that you must attune yourself to, to be sure.

You will need:

· Water!

Step 1: Dry throat

One of the most obvious signs of dehydration is a dry throat. You may not feel thirsty, but if your mouth feels dry and a touch furry, then you need to reach for some water pronto.

Step 2: Dry Skin

Dry skin is another sign of dehydration. The most obvious place where this dryness tends to be the most visible is the hands. This is because the hands tend to get the most exposure to harsh weather conditions, and undergo general wear and tear. Constant wetting and drying of hands also increases the chances that you’ll develop dry skin. Instead of simply reaching for the handcream, you need to drink more water!

Step 3: Headaches

This is one of the worst affects of dehydration, and they are very common, in children as well as adults. The problem in adults is that not only do we not drink enough water, but we tend to replace it with dehydrating drinks. Coffee is the worst offender. Although headaches are caused by many things- stress being one- simply upping your water intake could make a lot of difference.

Step 4: Poor digestion

Poor digestion is another result of the body being starved of water. We need water like machines need oil, to get the cogs turning smoothly. To avoid constipation – drink water. Simple.

Step 5: Fatigue

Tiredness and fatigue is one of the main results of dehydration. It is the body beginning to shut down because the organs have not been given the juices they need to function properly. Most people drink coffee to wake themselves up, but what they’re doing is dehydrating their bodies further. After the initial buzz, you’re likely to feel more tired than before.

Step 6: Poor concentration

Finally- lack of concentration. Do you get restless? Do you find it difficult to focus on a task for longer than ten minutes? This might not be due to ODD tendencies, but the fact that you’re not drinking enough water. Whereas headaches and tiredness are the physical effects of dehydration, lack of concentration is a psychological one. The brain cannot function without water, thoughts flit and you may even find yourself feeling emotional- don’t cry though, you’ll only lose more water!
