A group of miscreants attacked the sector 4 office of the Noida-based TV channnel Sudarshan Tv, just when Himani Savrakar of Abhinav Bharat was giving interview in the studio. The attack which took place at about 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday  caused massive damage to furniture and property although leaving Savarkar unhurt. Consequently, Himani Savarkar’s interview was immediately withheld after news of the attack spread in the office.

“A group of men entered the reception of the channel and as the guard was not present, they broke the windows and destroyed other property. Before anybody could stop them, the culprits had fled the office. We still do not know the reason behind the attack,” an employee said.

Senior Superintendent of Police R.K. Chaturvedi, rebuts the claim that the attack was targeted at Savarkar, He said: “The miscreants only wanted to target the channel’s office and not Savarkar, as perceived. If that had been their intention, they would have headed straight into the studio and attacked her. But instead, they just broke the glass windows and fled the spot within five minutes.” The police have collected fingerprints and sent them to forensic experts for examination.

Since Sudarshan Tv is believed to be a close ally of Sangh Parivar, the possibility of the involvement of those opposing the recent alliance of Hindu groups in the wake of the recent arrests in the Malegaon blasts case cannot be ruled out.

“Never has it happened before. This alliance is unacceptable to the Congress and it is because of that the attack has taken place. It is the outcome of a dirty game played by the Congress,” Savarkar said after the incident.

Greater Noida Electricity crisis

Greater Noida Electricity crisis

Greater Noida is already in short of power and to make the matters worse Uttaranchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam (UVVN) had only added to this pain.

Noida Power Company Limited official spokesperson Mr Samarjit Mohanty revealed that the Nigam has asked to pay a higher rate of Rs 2.70 as earlier decided by the state authority and now Nigam has warned that it will stop supply. Noida Power Company limited has now challenged the notice in court and their hearing date is on 8th January.

Greater Noida is already short of power supply. Its requirement is 110 mega watts but so far only 75 mega watts are generated for the area. 45mw are coming from NPCL and another 30 mw from private players.

The township will lost its half power supply following the standoff between the two parties. Meanwhile, Nigam general Manager Mr. K.G.Puri said, “The regulatory authority’s rate is for consumers, not profit-making power suppliers. The NPCL was expected to set up its own generation units by late 1990s, but, have still not done so. We have our own power supply problems.”

Your tea means others pain

Your tea means others pain

All of us enjoy drinking tea  or coffee in between our long working hours which are meant to refresh us ,but have you ever considered the fact that “what that single disposed cup of your drink would mean to the environment ?”.
There are more than 100 sectors in Noida which are loaded with several offices and call centers. On an average there are 200 tea and coffee stalls and every stall serves around 350 cups of beverage everyday which amounts to 70,000 cups per day. That brings us to the magnificent figure of the 15,50,000 cups per month(calculated as per 25 working days in a month). The matter is not how much we drink but how we dispose  these used and non-degradable cups. Most of these stalls have no dustbin arrangements and dumps the litter in open grounds or sewage system which in return chocks the sewage system and this dirty water gets stagnated.
The reason why most of people working in Noida ignore it is because even if they are bothered about it, the idea just flashes for a second and goes off with the same speed. Most of the time concerned authorities and organizations don’t make an effort to care about them. Aftermath of this pollution is faced not only by the residents of Noida but also the passerby. No doubt it may result in making it another dumping ground in the NCR. This problem is not only limited to tea stalls but lots of street food vendors also apply the same theory.
So next time when you have your drink in Noida don’t just bother about the taste but also think about the ways of dumping the cup.  It is necessary that we start behaving like a responsible citizen without feeling embarrassed or ashamed of it.

Jobs??… Have a fight with dogs.

Jobs??… Have a fight with dogs.

It’s your first job interview. All stressed and confused you reach the office hoping to impress the boss only to be surprised later. The competition for the post is not between you and another graduate but between you and dog. Astonished to see the long queue of dogs you try to evaluate yourself and pray that it’s just another nightmare…booms it’s not.
Lemon Tree Hotel chain in India employees dogs in their management. Sparky Keswani (read as Dog Sparky Keswani) is senior food critic as well as mascot of the hotel. Wondering about the mathematics behind Keswani…Patu Keswani is the Managing Director of Lemon Tree Hotels.
Apart from Sparky it has six more dog as employees Bobby as junior food critic, Tommy as top dog in Guest Protection Service where as Lottery, Potty, Knotty and Snippy are on training. So far dogs are widely used in police investigations but this exceptional use of dog’s sniffing capabilities is new and surely commendable as well.
In the time when world is facing recession and jobs are being laid off all over this is a paradox that dogs are another species which needs job and moohal to raise itself. This may even turn into a phenomenon where certain percentage of jobs will be reserved for dogs. Do not be shocked to see if in future PETA which is currently fighting for the animal’s rights may start fighting for the equal job opportunities for dogs or other animals.
