Noida: Fake cops in Noida have really become a nightmare for ladies these days. In a recent incident, a woman was cheated and robbed by few miscreants who pretended to be cops in broad day light. Usha Kaushik resident of Sector 37 Noida, went outside for some work. Two strangers stopped her telling they are cops who were in civil dress. They made up a story and cautioned the woman that thieves might snatch her jewellery and she should take them off and put it in a packet. Both the miscreants returned her the packet and Usha came back home. After returning home, she was shocked seeing the packet and informed her family about the deception.  Usha, immediately went to Sector 39 police station and lodged an FIR. Police has registered the case and investigation is on.

An exactly same incident took place a few days back in Sector 30, where the miscreants pretended to be cops and robbed a lady in broad day light in front of police.

The citizens having due respects for the police department are being cheated. In the name of cops, thieves are looting money, jewellery, vehicles from common people.

Meanwhile, the residents living in Noida, school children, shop vendors are all given a warning call to be aware of fake cops around them in the city.

SP City, Yogesh Singh has said that, “If anyone comes to you and tells he is a police first of all ask for his id card. Secondly in case of suspicion, call on 100 number and make noise to collect people. One should always have a number of a PCR van of his or her Sector,” he added.

The police department has therefore given the liberty to all the citizens to inform them in case of witnessing fake cop incidents.
