Noida: Even before the arrival of the active monsoon rains, the city has exposed itself to the problem of water logging at many places. To address woes of city residents due to water logging the Noida Authority has decided to start a monsoon helpline for the people, who are living in the low lying areas and sectors prone to water logging.
The helpline will not only register complaints of water-logging but will also provide pumps to drain out the water from the affected areas. As the monsoon is just about to unfold itself fully, the authority is leaving no stone unturned to keep the city away from monsoon blues. The toll free helpline number is 0120-2421490 and it will be functional for all seven days of the week. People can call anytime and ask help, this number is operational 24*7,said N P Singh, Deputy Chief Executive Office (DCEO) Noida Authority.
He said that people can lodge complaints on this number which is toll free and register their names and place which is affected by the problem of water logging. The authority will only provide heavy water pumps to drain out water only from the areas affected by the water-logging but not those areas which have choked drainage.
The helpline cell is expected to bring relief among the people living in the low lying areas. This is happening for the first time when a dedicated helpline is made active to deal with the problems of water-logging. "I think it would be good and relief for the thousands of people who are facing the problems", said a resident of Sector 22, Mr. Vikram Singh.
