Greater Noida: Residents of Greater Noida  will face long power cut from 8 am to 8 pm in the city today. The 132 KV sub-station in Jaitpur has be changed today therefore there would be no power supply for 12 hours, due to which 21,000 consumers will have to face difficulties.

The spokesperson of Noida Power Company said, “The transformer was very old and everyday there was some or the other technical problem in it which was resulting into major power cuts. That is why we decided to change the transformer.”

On being asked why he decided to take-up the task on Monday and why not on holiday, he said, “On working day most of the family members are out of their homes but on holiday everybody is at home.”

The affected areas are - Bita, Gama-1, Gama-2, Alpfa-1, Alpha-2, Delta, Theme Park, Knowledge Park, Pari Chowk, all the markets of the sectors and in industrial areas. There are total 18,000 residential and 3,000 industrial connections in Greno.
