Noida: Two cases of firing occurred in Noida within a short span of time of half an hour. The condition of one is known to be stable, while the other died on the spot.

Shiba Thomas, an employee of Nemesis Solutions, was shot dead by four men at 11.30 pm on motorcycles after she was allegedly dragged out of the car following an altercation of one and a half minutes with the assailants. "There was an argument going on and a little later we heard a shot. Her earrings were lying in the car," an eyewitness said. Though the police haven`t been able to trace the accused, they say Shiba might have known the assailants. About half an hour later, police complacency stood exposed when retired army official, Lt Gen T J S GILL was shot at near Amity Business School by three men on a motorcycle who allegedly wanted to steal his car. They shot at Gill when he resisted. "My dad was shot at in the abdomen and the arm. He drove back to the house himself and asked me to take him to the hospital," Gill`s Son Amol said. He was rushed to the Army Hospital (Research & Referral). Doctors say his condition is stable now.
