Noida: Over 30 flat owners turned up at the Registration Office at Sector 33 to register their flats on the first day after the Supreme Court’s directive in this regard. And nearly two dozen people came to make enquiry about the registry.

"I don`t want to delay it further to pay more panalty for registration. I have come here for registration of my flat as there is no other option," said Vinit Samrat, a resident of Sector 51. The department has given the duration of six months to the allottees to register their respective properties. A suitable penalty will be slapped in case they fail to do so. The registries will be done at the current rate of five per cent stamp duty.

After the court’s decision on Thursday, 30 allottees have already registered their flats on the first day.
