Lucknow police have started a Family counseling centre (FCC) to help reduce the growing menace of domestic violence and solving the problems of strained relations between couples and other family disputes.

The centre will be headed by ASP, Protocol and the cell will consist of six women sub-inspectors and two women head constables and five women constables. The FCC will also have a male sub inspector and two male constables who will handle the male side of the disputing parties.

FCC is a brain child of the DIG Prem Prakesh, and will invite and involve volunteers and experts from the field of medicine, psychiatry, lawyers, journalism, and social workers, to be part of this ambitious program.
